About Anemone

Hi there and welcome! I’m Jessica Petty Smith, owner & lead designer of Anemone Chicago which I launched in 2011. As a company, our motto is to create happiness through beauty.

Our eco-conscious, full service floral and event design studio is located on the northwest side of Chicago, Illinois. Our business focus is customized and intimate, serving events of all sizes with a focus on sustainability. We want your event to be as amazing as you are. Every. Single Time.

Before I fell hard for the event biz, I completed my MA in Art History. Though I will always love and be inspired by visual art (and teaching it), I am in my happiest place creating. When I’m not at the studio, I like to hang with my family (we are doing this a lot these days!), experiment with new recipes, disappear in a book, sip wine with friends and embrace lazy Sunday mornings at home. For a decade, I built this business by also teaching art history courses for City Colleges of Chicago. I stepped down in 2020 to do Anemone 100% and couldn’t be happier.

I am an artist, business owner, mom of two amazing kids and two adorable pups, partner and creative educator.
